No, Initially, I will need to get a prescription for an evaluation from your child's pediatrician but no referral is necessary. Calling your therapist is the first step and we can go from there.

Finding therapists to work individually in the home are very hard to find in the metro Atlanta area. Currently, I am hiring new therapists to work on our team to cover all areas of Atlanta. Call today to see if we have one in your area. If not, the evaluation can be completed and we can give you a list of options as well as a short home program while you are looking for a therapist in your area.

Many children that receive speech services in the public school systems also receive them at home if they are deemed eligible based on their diagnosis. Many children are in desperate need to receive these services and the parents don't know that they are even available. The benefit to having a home therapist is that you are provided with a home program, one-on-one based therapy that is focused on your child and not on paperwork requirements necessary by the state. Many times, children are seen in groups when they get therapy in the school systems. This is also an opportunity for the parents to be active participants and to learn what and how to do the techniques that your therapist is providing for your child. This is crucial for maintaining progress at a steady rate and generalizing information across settings.
